QUICK BIO
One of the true "supergroups" of contemporary jazz, Fourplay was formed in 1991. Initially, keyboardist Bob James recruited guitarist Lee Ritenour, bassist Nathan East and drummer Harvey Mason for one of his own projects. The resulting chemistry led to a more formal arrangement for the quartet – and, as of 2010, twelve top-selling albums. Larry Carlton replaced Ritenour in the guitar chair in the late 90s – and in 2010, Chuck Loeb took over the spot.
