One of the most popular and charismatic saxophonists on the contemporary jazz scene, Lington has performed for royalty and sold-out crowds around the world.
Lington, began playing clarinet in his hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark at age seven. As a young boy, he remembers spending time with his grandfather, Danish music legend Otto Lington, walking the streets of Copenhagen and talking about the music industry. Lington’s rich musical legacy was further enhanced by his stepfather who was a drum major for the Queen’s guard and was recently knighted. Lington was trained classically, but switched to the sax at age 15 upon hearing American soul and jazz musicians like Cannonball Adderley, Ray Charles and David Sanborn.
