Dave Koz Tours U.K. With Barry Manilow And U.S. With The Summer Horns
Three-time GRAMMY®-winning blues virtuoso Keb’ Mo’ – who will release his new album, Bluesamericana, on April 22 – and 2013 Sirius XM Watercolors “Breakthrough Artist” Vincent Ingala – who is climbing the charts with “If I Could Fly,” the latest single from his sophomore album, Can’t Stop Now – are the latest musical guests to join the lineup for the Dave Koz and Friends at Sea 2014 cruise to Alaska.
The line-up also includes special guest Chris Botti plus Oleta Adams, Jonathan Butler, Bobby Caldwell, Earl Klugh and many more yet-to-be-announced artists. The Summer Horns – an all-star saxophone section featuring Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright, Richard Elliot and Dave Koz – will be playing hits from their chart-topping, GRAMMY-nominated album Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns (Concord Records), which spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Current Contemporary Jazz Albums. The album pays tribute to the great horn sections that fueled hits by such artists as James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, Tower Of Power and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Lead single “Got To Get You Into My Life” spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz chart and “I Got You (I Feel Good)” topped the Mediabase Smooth A/C chart for seven weeks. Concord Records is taking their smoking version of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Hot Fun in the Summertime” to radio now as the quartet prepares for its North American summer tour.
Beginning with a sail away cocktail party with all the performers, travelers will continually find themselves mingling with the artists while on board, both informally and at scheduled autograph sessions. The entertainment will range from sophisticated productions in the Aurora Theatre that are glitzy enough to rival those on Broadway and in Las Vegas to surprise unplugged performances and late night comedy. Cabins for the seven-night cruise, which runs from September 5-12, can be reserved now at DaveKozCruise.com. Aboard Royal Caribbean Radiance Of The Seas, travelers will set sail from picturesque Vancouver, British Columbia, experience the idyllic ports of Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway and sail through the breathtaking Tracy Arm Fjord. All meals, shows and onboard events produced by the Dave Koz Cruise are included. Shore excursions, available for an additional fee, include whale watching, seaplanes, scenic bike tours, helicopters, train rides, sport fishing and zip lines. This video offers a glimpse of what’s in store on the upcoming cruise.
The cruise follows Dave’s sold-out 2013 excursion to the Mediterranean, which was his most successful cruise yet and received rave reviews from passengers. Click HERE to see passenger comments.
Koz is keeping busy in the months leading up to the Alaska cruise. In addition to touring the U.S. with The Summer Horns, he just launched his new weekly two-hour satellite radio show “The Dave Koz Lounge on Sirius/XM” and will tour the U.K. with Barry Manilow in May. He is also joining forces with Cary Hardwick and Laurie Sisneros, partners and owners of Spaghettini in Seal Beach, CA to open a new Beverly Hills restaurant, Spaghettini & the Dave Koz Lounge, this summer.
About Dave Koz
Dave Koz – a platinum-selling musician, humanitarian, entrepreneur, radio host, and instrumental music advocate – has forged a career that lets him combine two of his greatest passions: music and travel. But performing around the globe and crisscrossing the United States on his annual summer and winter tours still left him wanting more. So in recent years, he’s invited travelers to indulge these passions alongside him in a series of sold-out Dave Koz and Friends at Sea cruises that feature top-of-the-line accommodations and sightseeing plus an opportunity to hang out with the stellar artists who perform throughout the cruise.
A nine-time GRAMMY nominee, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009. He is known for such hits as “You Make Me Smile,” his signature song, “Castle of Dreams,” “Can’t Let You Go” featuring the late Luther Vandross, “Together Again,” “Honey-Dipped,” “All I See Is You,” “Put The Top Down” and “Faces of the Heart,” which was the theme song for “General Hospital” for more than 10 years.
Koz also hosts the syndicated Dave Koz Radio Show and the satellite radio show “The Dave Koz Lounge on Sirius/XM.” Dave has served for 19 years as global ambassador for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and his new line of KOZ wines helps Starlight continue its vital mission.
